    Development

    Seasoning trial

Two to three seasoning iterations couriered until the profile is signed off.

    Compliance

    Label and additive check

Ingredient list, allergens and nutrition panel built for the destination regulator.

    Production

    Batch consistency

Seasoning dosage locked per batch so repeat orders taste identical.

What a flavoured programme actually involves

Seasoning is the easy part. Adhesion, allergens and destination labelling are where programmes stall.

Seasoning needs something to hold on to

Makhana has a smooth, low-fat surface, so dry seasoning applied to a dry kernel falls straight to the bottom of the pouch. Flavoured lines therefore start from a lightly oil-roasted base: the oil acts as the carrier, the seasoning is tumbled on while the kernel is still warm, and the blend locks in as it cools. This is why a flavoured quote is not simply a roasted quote plus seasoning cost, and why "can you use our existing dry-roast base" usually gets a considered answer rather than a yes.

Allergens and clean label are a destination question

Cheese and cream-and-onion profiles carry milk. Some barbecue and tandoori systems carry mustard or celery, both of which are declarable allergens in the EU but not everywhere. Anti-caking and flavour-enhancer permissions differ between the EU, US, GCC and APAC, and a blend that is routine in one market can require reformulation for another. We select the seasoning system against your destination before sampling, so the profile you approve is one you can actually label and list.

    Classification changes once you season

Plain and roasted makhana export under HS code 08029900. A seasoned, retail-packed snack preparation usually moves to 20081910. That reclassification can change duty treatment, and in some markets it changes which nutrition and ingredient panel format applies. Compare a seasoned SKU against a plain one on landed cost, not ex-works.

    Shelf life and pack format

Seasoned lots sit at the lower end of the nine-to-twelve-month band, because the carrier oil and, in some profiles, dairy solids are the first components to oxidise. Portion packs of 20–50 g protect the profile better than large pouches, since the product is exposed to air once rather than repeatedly. Nitrogen flushing is available and is worth the cost on cheese and caramel systems in particular.

    Volumes and lead times

First orders are typically 500 kg per flavour SKU, and lower trial quantities are workable when several flavours consolidate into one container. Where the programme is printed under your own brand, the practical floor is set by the printed-film minimum rather than by us — currently 1,000–5,000 units per SKU depending on pack format. Custom seasoning development adds a sampling round before that clock starts; reference samples reach you in 3–5 working days, and a first private label run takes 5–7 weeks from artwork sign-off.

    Everything a buyer usually asks

Short, direct answers to the questions we get most often from importers, distributors and brand owners.

Do you offer private label and OEM manufacturing?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. You send us your brand artwork and we handle everything else: grade selection, roasting and seasoning to your flavour brief, pouch printing, nutrition panel and label compliance for your market, barcoding, cartoning and export. You own the brand entirely — we do not sell your artwork, recipe or pack design to anyone else, and we are happy to sign an NDA and an exclusivity agreement for your territory before development starts.

How do you pack makhana for export?

Bulk shipments go into food-grade laminated or PP bags with an inner LDPE liner, usually 10 kg or 20 kg per bag, palletised and strapped. Because makhana absorbs moisture, we dry to 5–7% moisture and can add nitrogen flushing or vacuum packing when the transit is long or the destination is humid. Retail packs are made in metallised or transparent laminate pouches from 20 g to 500 g, with zip-lock, stand-up or pillow formats, printed to your artwork with your market's mandatory labelling already in place.

Which countries do you export to?

We ship to the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand and Qatar, and we can supply any market where makhana is a permitted food import. Each destination has its own labelling and residue rules — FDA prior notice for the US, EU food contact and nutrition declaration rules for Europe, Halal expectations in the Gulf — and we prepare the documentation for that market rather than sending a generic pack.
