Plain and roasted in 200–500 g retail, own-label programmes at volume.
Middle East · Supplying United Arab Emirates
Container and air-freight supply of raw, roasted, flavoured and private label makhana for importers, distributors and retail buyers in United Arab Emirates — with MOCCAE and the municipality of the emirate of entry, commonly Dubai Municipality documentation and destination-ready labelling handled before dispatch.
What clearance actually requires, who carries the obligation, and where first shipments go wrong.
Food labels are registered with the municipality before the goods clear, through the emirate's food import platform, and the registration is tied to the specific label artwork — change the pack and you re-register. Consignments are released against that approval plus the certificate of origin and health certificate. Jebel Ali's free-zone status is what makes the UAE a re-export hub: goods can land, be held and move on to Saudi Arabia, Oman or East Africa without entering UAE customs territory, which is worth structuring for if you distribute regionally.
Arabic and English on the same pack, both mandatory. The production and expiry dates must be printed on the original label — stickered dates are rejected, and this single rule causes more UAE port holds than anything else. A halal declaration is expected even for plant-based products, and the UAE applies a minimum remaining-shelf-life rule at entry, so goods arriving late in their life are refused regardless of how they were sold. Ship with the longest remaining life you can.
GCC common external tariff applies, with foodstuffs generally attracting a low rate under HS 0802.99 for plain and roasted product. Seasoned retail snacks fall under 2008.19. Goods entering a free zone for re-export are treated differently from goods cleared into the local market, so confirm which flow you are pricing.
None of this is advice you should act on without your own customs broker confirming the item-level position — tariff treatment changes, and it changes by classification rather than by product name. What we guarantee is the documentation: invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, health certificate and accredited lab analysis, prepared in-house and couriered ahead of arrival.

Handpicked Premium in presentation packs for Ramadan and Eid.
Jebel Ali is a week from Nhava Sheva, the shortest lane we run. That short transit is a commercial advantage as much as a logistical one: it supports smaller, more frequent orders and much tighter shelf-life delivery than any Atlantic or Pacific lane. Air freight is overnight to next-day for samples and urgent top-ups.
Ramadan is the dominant cycle, with buying beginning roughly two to three months ahead and gifting formats moving through Eid. Diwali adds a second peak across the large South Asian community. Summer slows hospitality demand as residents travel.

Because production and expiry dates must be printed as part of the original packaging, not applied as a sticker afterwards. It is the most common single cause of a hold. We print dates inline during packing, so the pack that leaves our unit is the pack the municipality inspects.
Makhana is inherently plant-based and carries no prohibited inputs, but buyers and authorities routinely ask for a declaration covering the processing environment and any seasoning inputs. We issue one, and for oil-roasted and seasoned lines we confirm the origin of the carrier oil and flavour system.
Yes, and many of our regional buyers do exactly that. Goods held in the free zone have not entered UAE customs territory, so they can move on to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar or East Africa under their own documentation. We can ship in bulk for local repacking or in finished retail packs by destination.
500 kg for a single grade by air, or one container load by sea — around 6–8 MT in a 20ft container and 14–16 MT in a 40ft high cube, since makhana cubes out before it weighs out. Private label runs are set by the printed-film minimum, currently 1,000–5,000 units per SKU depending on pack format.
Samples reach you in 3–5 working days. On a confirmed order, production runs 10–15 days, then 6–9 days by sea; 1–2 days by air Add clearance and inland movement at your end.

Short, direct answers to the questions we get most often from importers, distributors and brand owners.
Most orders move by sea in FCL containers from Nhava Sheva, Mundra or Kolkata; urgent or sample volumes go by air from Delhi or Mumbai. We work on FOB, CFR, CIF and DDP terms, whichever suits your freight arrangement. Because makhana is low density, we plan the load by volume so you are not paying for half-empty containers, and we can consolidate multiple grades or SKUs into a single container.
Bevive Retail Pvt. Ltd. holds an Importer Exporter Code (IEC), an FSSAI licence, APEDA registration, GST registration and Startup India recognition. Processing runs at our Darbhanga plant and contracted partner units operating ISO 22000 / HACCP food safety systems, and organic lots are supplied against NPOP and NOP certification. For each shipment we provide a certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate and a third-party lab report covering moisture, aflatoxin, pesticide residue and microbiological limits. Buyer-appointed inspection agencies such as SGS or Bureau Veritas are welcome at any stage.
For loose bulk makhana the practical minimum is 500 kg for air freight and one container load for sea freight — around 6–8 MT in a 20ft container and 14–16 MT in a 40ft high cube, since makhana is very light and cubes out before it weighs out. For private label retail packs the MOQ is 1,000–5,000 units per SKU depending on pack format, driven by the printed-film minimum rather than by us. First-time buyers can start with a smaller trial shipment while a relationship is being established.
